Winter in the Polish Mountains is a perfect escape designed to retune the body and mind!

Cradled by the vast mountain ranges of Beskidy, Tatras (Tatry), Gorce, Pieniny, and Bieszczady, winter in South Poland spoils every outdoor seeker. Just when we thought we’d experienced all the top winter activities in Zakopane, a magical spot popped up on the map. Tucked on the Tatry-Pieniny Mountains border in Slovakia, this structure looked tempting, so versatile and satisfying, as if it was created for a perfect escape!

Skipping it is never an option 😛

Having checked off the list of top Zakopane tourist attractions, starting with Krupowki Street, Morskie Oko, Kaprowy Wierch, and Giewont, the magical winter sledge rides in Zakopane (yes, husky sledging too), it was time to embark on a fresh adventure.

Get ready to push that accelerator pedal a bit more. Because this one is an hour’s drive from Zakopane, through the hairpin road bends and dreamy outdoors.

We steer towards the Pieniny National Park and Tatry National Park border.

Road to treetop Walk Bachledka Poland Slovakia

The Treetop Walk overlooks a flawless ski slope on the Tatra and Pieniny National Parks border in Zdziar town of Slovakia. Rising 32 m above the ground and boasting a treetop trail stretching to 1234 m, the Treetop Walk Bachleda stands tall and versatile, battling the harshest wind gusts in the open valley.

A gondola ride, with an uninterrupted view of skiers and a flawless slope, is available from the parking to the Treetop entrance. For hiking lovers – a super steep 1.5 km trail from the parking is open year-round unless there’s a weather emergency.
I walked it; take my word – it is not the easiest.

An 88 m2 net is spread at the top, ready to embrace the extra-adrenaline seekers. If you can brave the overpowering wind gusts, stand and look into the 32-meter abyss. There’s also a 67-meter slide, which remained suspended during our visit. I guess they reopen in spring.

Designed to serve as a winter essential for outdoor fanatics, the Treetop Walk presents stunning wintry landscapes, panoramic views of the snowswept valley, and sharp mountain peaks. I highly recommend walking the wooden structure. The circular pathway leading to the treetop is adorned with striking visuals, giving the visitors an elevated winter experience.

Thanks to its formidable design, the Treetop Walk Bachledka endures the raging weather, offering a unique opportunity to walk in the clouds. Quite literally. While the top huddles with the bone-chilling winds transcending the snow-coated Tatry peaks, the bottom stands rock solid. As expected, the chill factor on the top stayed around -15 to -20 degrees. It was a sunny day 😉
