French-Inspired Breakfast in Wrocław’s Old Town

A morning in Wrocław doesn’t always hum with the clatter of market stalls or the rush of commuters chasing trams. Some mornings call for a slower pace, a soft croissant, and coffee brewed for presence. That’s where Le Gosse steps in, inviting you to pause, to savour. Parisian at heart and Polish in place, this restaurant in Wrocław Old Town is built for mornings that matter.

That’s the kind of morning I stumbled into at Le Gosse, a bistro tucked on Uniwersytecka Street, just steps from the Rynek. Here, mornings unfold with buttery croissants, poached eggs with truffle, and coffee that feels like a warm embrace, truly Parisian style. Here, brunch feels like a ritual, a secret shared by those who know where to linger.

What’s on the LeGosse Brunch Menu?

Menu of French-Inspired Breakfast in Wrocław

Wrocław’s brunch scene is growing fast, and Le Gosse stands out by doing it just perfectly. Their all-day brunch menu, served from 9:00 to 17:00 daily, offers carefully balanced dishes using locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Here’s what makes this place your go-to for the best brunch in Wrocław Old Town:

  • LeGosse Breakfast: Two eggs your way (fried, scrambled, poached), a fresh croissant, chia pudding with seasonal fruit, a trio of cheeses (brie, cheddar), mortadella, and a crisp salad.
  • Fat Breakfast: The heartier choice, bacon, sausages, baked brie, hash browns, pancakes, eggs, muffins, mushrooms, and more.
  • Wellness Breakfast: Guacamole, salmon, ricotta, caramelised grapefruit, paleo bread, light greens, and a single egg. Designed to feel light, not lacking.
  • Pancakes with mascarpone and berries: Golden, soft-centred, citrus-touched.
  • Poached eggs with truffle sauce: Rich, savoury, and plated with care.
  • French toast with thyme and orange: Delicate, warm, and slightly floral.

And let’s not forget the iced latte, the kind that lands perfectly between creamy and bold. It’s how we started our morning, and it quietly set the tone for a lazy yet wholesome afternoon meal.

A Bistro Built for Slow Mornings

Delivering the vibes of the most elegant restaurants in Wrocław Old Town, Le Gosse is where the room itself encourages you to take your time. The design, ideated and developed by Vera Prokhorova, the bistro blends loft, country, and modernist vibes. It’s refined yet cosy, with spaces for every mood:

  • Main Room: Open, sunlit, ideal for couples or solo mornings.
  • Inner Room: Tucked away for longer conversations and quiet reading.
  • Rooftop Terrace: Seasonal, serene, with Old Town spires in view
(reserve for rooftop brunch in Wrocław).

Muted tones, wooden textures, and linen touches build a mood that’s refined but never cold, and music is present but distant. Art lines the walls without asking to be noticed. You feel like you’ve returned to a place that knows your pace.

Who’s Cooking at LeGosse?

Amazing staff at Le Gosse, a top fine dining restaurant in Wrocław

Chef Anton Nemirovich, Le Cordon Bleu–trained and shaped by his time at Mugaritz, brings quiet precision to every dish. His philosophy? Less drama, more depth. Chef de Cuisine Nikita Molodtsov keeps the day-to-day offering tight, seasonal, and beautifully plated.

Together, they’ve created a menu that highlights the best of French and modern European flavours, always respectful of ingredients, never overwrought. Their recent seasonal releases, featured on the restaurant’s blog, showcase everything from roasted duck breast with wine-poached pear to fresh takes on cauliflower and lamb loin.

Even the team’s own breakfast favourites—poached eggs with truffle and variations on the house chia pudding—are served with the same consistency they’d plate for themselves.

Wine with Your Brunch? Le Gosse Says Yes

Although our visit was a no-wine morning, Le Gosse’s reputation as one of the most wine-conscious brunch venues in Wrocław still shows.

Le Gosse elevates bistro brunch in Wrocław with a wine list that’s rare for morning spots. Their sommelier curates 47 labels, including Polish and European gems, available from lunch hours. The “Glass of Wine with a Story” series, detailed on their website, pairs wines with dishes like tuna à la Niçoise or pancakes with mascarpone. Imagine a crisp Riesling with your poached eggs or a Polish white with citrusy French toast. Tempting, right?

For those looking to transition their morning into an elegant midday linger, this bistro offers an experience more than just a meal.

My Morning at Le Gosse

We arrived just before noon. The rooftop was open, the sun out in all its glory, but we chose the window-lit main room for its cosy glow. The iced latte arrived layered, creamy, and chilled just enough to carry us into the main order.

We ordered the Le Gosse Breakfast and the Fat Breakfast were hearty, filling, and balanced to the last bite. The brie had the right softness, the poached eggs were bright-yolked, the mortadella was sliced thin, and the golden brown bacon was crisped to perfection. No soggy greens, no off-notes; as fresh as it gets. The chia pudding came with fresh mango pulp, thick and rich in texture.

For a moment, I wasn’t chasing Wrocław’s next hotspot. I was home, savouring a morning that mattered. Want to find your own moment? It’s totally worth a visit.
